North Oxford first

Alyssa's preference is North Oxford towards Summertown. Treat that as the first search area even where the journey to Lincoln needs a bus, cycle or occasional Uber.

Preferred search corridor: Jericho → Central North Oxford → Park Town → Summertown. Start here before widening the search elsewhere.

Lincoln access: direct bus/cycle corridor down Banbury Road; an Uber is a practical late-night fallback.

Best for: Alyssa's preferred location, shops, cafés and a calmer residential feel.

Trade-off: longer than walking from the centre and private supply is competitive.

Lincoln access: walk, cycle or frequent bus depending on the exact address.

Best for: quiet postgraduate living between St Giles and Summertown.

Trade-off: ensuite rooms are limited, so include studios and well-managed houses.

City Centre

Lincoln access: excellent.

Best for: minimum travel and late library sessions.

Trade-off: highest cost, noise and limited supply.

St Clement's

Lincoln access: about 15–20 minutes on foot.

Best for: Alice House and good local amenities.

Trade-off: traffic noise near main roads.

Jericho

Lincoln access: walkable.

Best for: the southern end of the preferred North Oxford corridor, postgraduate feel, cafés and shops.

Trade-off: expensive and competitive.

Osney

Lincoln access: reasonable walk or cycle.

Best for: quieter residential atmosphere and station access.

Trade-off: fewer purpose-built ensuite rooms.

Western Cowley Road

Lincoln access: roughly 20–25 minutes.

Best for: supply, restaurants, buses and Spireworks.

Trade-off: lively/noisy in places.

Botley

Lincoln access: bus or cycle.

Best for: modern buildings and supermarkets.

Trade-off: weaker daily convenience for Lincoln.

Updated search rule: prioritise North Oxford and Summertown even outside a 20-minute walk. Accept a sensible bus journey or occasional Uber when the room and neighbourhood are right.
